Steps to Receive the Healthy Label Test Stamp of Approval

How to print straight to pdf: Instead of printing the test results then scanning them into your computer, it is much easier to print the results straight to pdf and save the document to your hard drive. If your computer is not currently set up to print straight to pdf, download the CutePDF Writer. It's the program we use and is safe, free and easy. After you install it, just print a document as you normally would (i.e. File -> Print) and select "CutePDF" from your printer list.

  1. The Healthy Label Test stamp of approval is only given to foods that receive a test score of "5 out of 5". To ensure that the food you are submitting receives this score, sign up for the Healthy Label Test (free), input the data from your food’s label and print the results to pdf (see sidebar). Before submitting your company’s food, please make sure it receives a "5 out of 5". Assuming it does...
  2. Prior to submitting your application further down this page, please send an email to foodtest@organic-pet-digest.com with the following supporting information:
    1. Your product and company name
    2. Printout of your food’s Healthy Label Test results (pdf)
    3. A legible copy of the entire FRONT of your product’s packaging (pdf)
    4. A legible copy of the entire BACK of your product’s packaging (pdf)
    5. Note: If all of your product's label information is found on your website, please do not send copies of your label - only send the link(s) to your product information.
  3. Complete and submit the application found further down this page after reading the rest of the guidelines below.
  4. We will re-run your food’s label through the Healthy Label Test to confirm the “5 out of 5” score and send you an email confirmation with the following next steps (if your food does not receive a “5 out of 5”, you will not receive a reply)...

After we confirm your food's “5 out of 5” dog food ratings score:

  1. We will send you an email with the Healthy Label Test stamp of approval and corresponding link for use on your website and product packaging.
  2. Add a the linked stamp of approval and/or text link to your website/product page (text link only is ok). Linked image and text link MUST comply with the requirements below.
  3. Upon verification of your website's link to this page, we will add a link to your product in the appropriate section above (Best Adult Dog Food or Best Puppy Food).

  1. You may not use the approval stamp or text link or make any reference to them unless you have received written confirmation from us of your product's approval.
  2. If ANY changes are made to the ingredients of the approved food, you must discontinue the use of the Healthy Label Test stamp/reference until your food is resubmitted and reapproved.
  3. When using the stamp/link on your website or product packaging:
    1. WEBSITE USAGE:
      1. To help prevent fraudulent use, you must NOT alter the HTML code that we provide in any way without written authorization (send any alteration requests to foodtest@organic-pet-digest.com)
      2. Maintain the code’s link back to this page to allow visitors to verify its authenticity by finding your food on the above lists.
      3. Clearly indicate which product(s) have received approval from Organic Pet Digest (i.e. only place the stamp next to the approved product or on a page exclusively dedicated to that product, clearly list the foods that have been approved above or below the stamp, etc.). There must be no possibility of confusion by a prudent layperson regarding which products the stamp applies to.
    2. PRODUCT PACKAGING USAGE:
      1. For use on the approved product’s packaging, the following text MUST be included below the image in an easily legible font (12pt minimum):
        "To confirm this product's Healthy Label Test approval with Organic Pet Digest, see our link on the following web page: http://www.organic-pet-digest.com/5outof5"
      2. The image size may be altered, but it must maintain its aspect ratio.
